Creating Geofences

Overview

You may need to create a geofence - an area on the map that is used to track when workers enter or leave the selected region.

Prerequisites

You need to have an account with a Super User or Company Administrator role, or a custom role with rights to create Geofences.

Solution

1. Log in to the Field Force Manager web portal using your credentials and company ID.
2. Navigate to Administration > Geofences.
   
   
   
   
3. Click Create Geofence.
   
   
   
   
4. Zoom in to the required location on the world map (Ctrl + Scroll).
5. Select the type (form) of a geofence in the top right corner of the map:
   
   • Circle
   • Polygon
   • Rectangle
6. Click on the Pallete board icon and select the color for the geofence.
7. Draw a figure on the map covering the required area.
   
   
   
   
8. Click Next.
9. Enter a name and description for the geofence.
   
   
   
   
10. Mark the geofence as Active to be displayed on the map.
11. Select the groups for which you want to track workers entering or leaving the geofence.
12. Click Next.
13. Select the users whose time of entrance and exit from the geofence will be tracked.
    
    
    
    
14. Click Save & Close at the bottom of the page.

Testing

The newly created geofence is displayed in the list. You can click on the geofence and review it on map.

The geofence is displayed. Also, you will be able to check who entered and who left the geofence.
